Michael Shannon is General Zod

ScreenRant has just revealed some nice little tidbits that some point to Michael Shannon playing General Zod in the upcoming Zack Snyder Superman film The Man of Steel. When asked about playing a villian like Zod, Shannon said this about the character:

“He’s actually a not very scary guy. He’s just trying to do his job, just like anybody.”

And when asked if moviegoers will be able to connect to the character he had this to say:

“I don’t know, you know? I don’t want to say. Some people might hate him, some people might love him. But I’m fond of him. I respect him.”

I was unimpressed with the steady trickle of news about this film thus far, but this announcement gives me a glimmer of hope that this movie might be decent.
