Michael Shannon Plays Richard Kuklinski in the New ‘The Iceman’ Trailer

Here’s the new trailer for The Iceman, starring Michael Shannon as the infamous hitman Richard Kuklinski. The film is written and directed by Ariel Vromen, who is a relative newcomer on the scene, however I’m hopeful that the interesting story, decent cast, and promising visuals will make for an enjoyable mob flick. I must say though, that my hopes have been slightly lowered for this after the lackluster releases of Killing Them Softly and Gangster Squad.

The film also stars Ray Liotta, Winona Rider, David Schwimmer, James Franco, and Chris Evans. The Iceman hits theaters May 3rd, check out the trailer and synopsis after the jump.

Inspired by actual events, The Iceman follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski (Academy Award® nominee Michael Shannon) from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men. Appearing to be living the American dream as a devoted husband and father; in reality Kuklinski was a ruthless killer-for-hire. When finally arrested in 1986, neither his wife nor daughters have any clue about his real profession.
