‘Moon’ Director Duncan Jones Takes on ‘Warcraft’

I make no excuses or apologies when I state I am a former World of Warcraft fan.  Though I may not have been as fanatical as some, I still spent many sleepless nights stomping through Azeroth with my death knight looking for some alliance to slay. In addition to being a former fan of WoW, I’m also a big fan of Duncan Jones who directed some great science fiction flicks including Moon and Source Code. Put those two things together and you have what could be something extremely rare: A good video game movie.

The script for Warcraft was written by Charles Leavitt, who penned the script for Blood Diamond and, less impressively, K-Pax.

Legendary pictures will be producing the film and there’s a tentative release date of 2015.

After the news broke, Jones took to Twitter to quickly reaffirm fans that this will be something more than just another crappy video game movie:
