Universal has released the second trailer for their reboot of The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise as an adventurer who unleashes the power of ancient evil. There is some backstory given for Sofia Boutella‘s monster, and vague inferences about her desire to conquer the world once awoken. The new take on the classic villain looks like it blends action with horror elements nicely.
The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman and also stars Russell Crowe, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Annabelle Wallis. It will be in theaters on June 9th.
