Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender Cast in Justin Kurzel’s ‘Macbeth’

Today it was announced that Michael Fassbender and Natalie Portman will be the leads in director Justin Kurzel‘s adaptation of Shakespeare‘s Macbeth. Kurzel previously directed the Australian thriller The Snowtown Murders and though I’m not a fan of Shakespeare, the cast and director have me very interested.

Moreover, the film is described to “be a visceral approach to the story including significant battle scenes.” Though the cast, script, and director are in place, there’s been no announcement of who will be producing it or when production will begin.
