New Trailer for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for the upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Directed by Matt Reeves (Let Me In), the film takes place 10 years after the events in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, in a world where the human population is nearly wiped out by a virus and the apes are taking over. This is an excellent trailer that doesn’t give too much away while still showing off some of the absolutely insane motion capture used in this movie.

The film stars Andy Serkis, Toby Kebbell, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Judy Greer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Kirk Acevedo, and Enrique Murciano. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens in theaters July 11th, hit the jump for the trailer and synopsis.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
