Nice, JACK REACHER 2 Set for an October 2016 Release

I was quite surprised at just how much I liked 2012’s action flick Jack Reacher, which starred Tom Cruise as the titular character, kicking peoples asses and solving a murder mystery. Today, Paramount and Skydance has revealed that the sequel is officially in the works and will be released on October 21st, 2016.

Obviously Cruise is set to reprise his role as Jack Reacher, however director Christopher McQuarrie will not be returning. Instead, Ed Zwick will be picking up directing duties, who previously worked with Cruise on The Last Samurai.

This is still in the early stages of development so there aren’t any other details as of yet, like who the villain this time around could be, but part of me hopes that Werner Herzog will somehow come back, maybe in the form of an even more evil twin version of this character from the first film?
