Nostalgia Reigns With Jared Hess Tapped to Direct a NICKTOONS Movie

Deadline broke the news today that Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have begun development on a Who Framed Roger Rabbit-style film that aims to bring all the classic ’90s NickToons together in one epic story that will be directed by Napoleon Dynamite‘s Jared Hess. The film, aptly titled NickToons, will feature characters from Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko’s Modern Life, Aaahh! Real Monsters, and The Angry Beavers, with the possibility of more added later.

Unfortunately, Doug may not be on the list since Disney owns the rights to those characters, but they were fine with the Warner Bros. crossover in Roger Rabbit so one can hope Skeeter and Patti Mayonnaise and Quail Man make an appearance.

Now if only Donkey Lips and Mr. Ernst would make cameos…
