NOW YOU SEE ME Sequel Confirmed

Despite the lukewarm reception from critics, this summer’s magic-themed thriller Now You See Me banked big time at the box office, and expects to pull in $275 million worldwide or more by the end of its run.  This is even more impressive when you factor in the budget, which was only $75 million, far less than most big blockbusters.

With numbers like that, Lionsgate would be foolish not to capitalize and make a sequel, which was confirmed today by Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer.  The film is still in the early stages, with no director, writer, or cast confirmed, however they are planning to begin production next year with a release of sometime in 2015.

You can check out our thoughts on the first film here in our review.  We didn’t like it.
