Park Chan-Wook’s ‘Stoker’ Trailer

One pet peeve I have when watching a trailer is when the term “visionary” gets thrown out there. When you see the trailer below for Park Chan-Wook‘s Stoker, you’ll notice they say it, but in this instance I would actually agree with the statement.  His revenge trilogy (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Old Boy, Lady Vengeance) was some of the most original and captivating stuff I’ve seen in film. I’ve voiced concerns before regarding Asian directors making their US debut, as it usually isn’t very successful, but judging from the trailer, Stoker looks like it’s going to be incredible.

The film follows Mia Wasikowska as India, a girl who becomes plagued by her father’s questionable demise, and the mystery behind the appearance of an estranged uncle, played by Matthew Goode. Nicole Kidman also stars as India’s treacherous and equally crazy looking mother.

Stoker is set for a March 1, 2013 release.
