Patrick Hughes to Direct ‘The Expendables 3’

Just a week or so after Sylvester Stallone took to Twitter to joke about having Mel Gibson attached to direct the next installment of The Expendables, he announced today that Patrick Hughes has been officially set as the director.

Hughes previously directed the Australian horror flick Red Hill, which starred True Blood‘s Ryan Kwanten.  While the film itself was slightly average, it still proved to be enjoyable, much like the second Expendables flick, so Hughes will most likely do a satisfactory job.

Little else is known about the film other than the myriad of casting rumors that seem to be updated on a weekly basis.  Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
