Quentin Tarantino Takes Over Programming Duties of the New Beverly Cinema

The future was looking cloudy for L.A.’s famed New Beverly Cinema, after its final screening last week, however director Quentin Tarantino, who purchased the building back in 2007, has announced that he will be taking over programming duties for the rest of the year, before collaborating with other programmers.

According to Mr. Tarantino, the New Beverly will become a bastion for 35mm, only exhibiting movies on film, no DCP.  Most of the movies that will be screened will come from his personal collection of prints, but he also pointed out that this will not become a grindhouse and will show a multitude of different features.

For now, the New Beverly remains closed, however it will re-open under the Tarantino management next month.
