A red band trailer has been released for the upcoming comedy The Happytime Murders, starring Melissa McCarthy as a detective investigating a series of killings perpetrated on puppets. The film is directed by Brian Henson (son of Jim Henson) and also stars Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale, and Elizabeth Banks. We wrote about this film all the way back in 2012, so it’s nice to finally seeing this idea come to fruition- whether it will work or not though is still in question.
The Happytime Murders opens in theaters August 17th.
No Sesame. All Street. THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS is a filthy comedy set in the underbelly of Los Angeles where puppets and humans coexist. Two clashing detectives with a shared secret, one human (Melissa McCarthy) and one puppet, are forced to work together again to solve the brutal murders of the former cast of a beloved classic puppet television show.
