‘Reno 911!”s Robert Ben Garant to Helm the ‘Baywatch’ Movie

Although it’s been a long time since there was any news on the Baywatch movie, today it was announced that Reno 911! co-creator Robert Ben Garant is taking he directors chair for the flick. Garant also played Deputy Travis Junior on Reno 911!, and is currently finishing up a film called Hell Baby, which is a horror comedy he co-wrote and directed with another Reno 911! alum Thomas Lennon.

As for Baywatch, little is known at this point, the film has had several rewrites over the last five years or so, but I think we can safely assume it will be a comedy, given Garant’s involvement. It also wouldn’t be a surprise to see Garant to some rewrites of his own, considering he has written most of the films he’s directed.

Since it seems like it’s still going to be a while till we have a Baywatch movie in theaters, here’s one of the many amazing clips from the show available on Youtube. Check it out below.
