Oscilloscope Laboratories has released a new trailer for the upcoming Australian comedy Girl Asleep, from director Rosemary Myers. This coming of age film tells the story of Greta, who is entering womanhood on the eve of her fifteenth birthday. It looks like it stylistically pulls from Wes Anderson and maybe some Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) for good measure, so I’m definitely digging the quirky vibe.
Oscilloscope will be releasing Girl Asleep in select cities September 23rd.
The world is closing in on Greta Driscoll. On the cusp of turning fifteen she can’t bear to leave her childhood, it contains all the things that give her comfort in this incomprehensible new world.
