A new trailer has been released for Adam Salky‘s I Smile Back, starring Sarah Silverman in a dramatic role as a loving wife and mother who’s battling depression, causing her to engage in increasingly risky and irrational behavior. The film also stars Josh Charles as her husband.
I Smile Back originally premiered at this year’s Sundance, and can next be seen screening at Tiff, which kicked off this week. It opens in theaters October 23rd.
Laney is an attractive, intelligent suburban wife and devoted mother of two adorable children. She has the perfect husband who plays basketball with the kids in the driveway, a pristine house, and a shiny SUV for carting the children to their next activity. However, just beneath the façade lie depression and disillusionment that send her careening into a secret world of reckless compulsion.
