‘Snowpiercer’ International Trailer

Finally, there’s been a trailer released for Joon-ho Bong‘s upcoming sci-fi film Snowpiercer.  This will be Bong’s first English language film, after making waves with great films like Memories of Murder, The Host, and Mother.  Though it’s always a concern when an Asian director comes to the States, the interesting story and impressive cast featuring Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, John Hurt, Kang-ho Song, Ed Harris, and Ewen Bremner do well to set my mind at ease.

Snowpiercer is set to hit theaters in South Korea August 1st, however there’s no US release date as of yet. Hit the jump for the trailer and full synopsis.

Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A class system evolves on the train but a revolution brews.
