Taika Waititi in Talks to Direct THOR: RAGNAROK

We don’t normally post casting news until it’s a done deal, but when The Wrap reported earlier today that Taika Waititi is in negotiations to direct the next Thor film for Marvel, Thor: Ragnarok, I instantly got very excited. Waititi previously directed What We Do In The Shadows, the hilarious vampire mockumentary released earlier this year, and the ridiculously charming Kiwi dramedy Boy.

I sincerely hope this works out, as I’m really interested in seeing how Waititi handles the franchise, considering it’s generally the most unfunny of the Marvel lineup thus far.

Disney will release Thor: Ragnarok on July 28th, 2017.
