science fiction film Zero Theorem, starring Christoph Waltz. Gilliam has stated “It’s not really sci-fi. It’s like Brazil, which also isn’t really sci-fi.” The similar visual style to Brazil is unmistakable, which has me all the more excited for this film.
Pat Rushin wrote the screenplay years ago and noted that Gilliam’s previous work was a heavy influence on the story, which revolves around an anti-social programmer attempting to crack the “Zero Theorem” which could unlock the meaning of life.
The film also stars Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Peter Stormare and David Thewlis, and is set to come out sometime in 2014. Check below for the trailer.
