‘The American’ Director Set to Helm James Dean pic ‘Life’

It was announced today that director Anton Corbijn (Control, The American) has been attached to a new film that focuses on the relationship between photographer Dennis Stock and actor James Dean.  The film, titled Life, is set to take place in 1955 before East of Eden, and chronicle the time Stock spent with Dean, helping shape him as the voice of a generation.

Iain Canning and Emile Sherman of See-Saw Films (The King’s Speech, Shame) will be producing and the script was written by Luke Davies (Candy).  Pre-production is set to being in early 2014.
