To Make Matters Worse… THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT Reboot

With Hollywood gone mad with reboots and remakes, naturally the next property to tackle would be the critical darling The Butterfly Effect from 2004.  Of course, I’m being sarcastic as the original film was a flop with critics, however it did make a boatload of cash at the box office and spawned two straight to DVD sequels.

Benderspink, an off-shoot of New Line Cinema, has given the project the go ahead, with Eric Bress, the screenwriter from the original working on a new script.  As of now, there’s no director attached, but is that even going to matter?  Maybe Rian Johnson or Shane Carruth will hop on board and make a good movie out of the interesting concept.  Something tells me that won’t be happening though.
