It was previously announced that F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) will be directing, with Luke Evans starring as The Crow. There is promise of more information coming soon however, as it was also released that Gutierrez and O’Barr will be at Comic-Con discussing the film.

Shooting is set to begin early next year, so we probably won’t be seeing this anytime soon, but as a fan of the original, I’ll definitely be keeping my ear to the ground. It also seems like getting O’Barr’s blessing will boost the film’s cred, even if he has little to do with the production itself.
Here’s what O’Barr said regarding the project taken from Variety:
It is important for ‘Crow’ fans to understand that Relativity, Javier, Luke and the entire team are working on a new adaptation of the book itself. I believe that this movie will stand alongside Brandon and his film as a valid work of art, and I look forward to collaborating on the project.
