The Rock to Star in Movie Adaptation of RAMPAGE

Dwayne Johnson seems to be popping everywhere these days – from the announcement of his starring role in a Big Trouble in Little China reboot, to his new series, Ballers, on HBO, to now starring in a film adaptation of the video game Rampage.

Deadline broke the news today that New Line is working with producer Beau Flynn and writer Ryan Engle to create this live-action film based on the popular ’80s arcade game about giant monsters destroying various cities.

Rampage currently doesn’t have a director lined up just yet and is tentatively scheduled for a Summer 2016 release.

I’m not so sure about this one, I liked the games okay, but can’t imagine this working as a film unless they go the Mars Attacks! route and make it ultra campy. What do you think about this announcement?
