To Make Matters Worse… Megan Fox Cast As April O’Neil in New TMNT

Well, we can go ahead and put another nail in the coffin for the ill-fated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle reboot, or Ninja Turtles as it’s now being referred to since they aren’t mutants. Today Michael Bay took to Twitter to announce the casting of Megan Fox as April O’Neil, The turtles’ spunky reporter friend.

This is certainly an odd choice for several reasons.  First, the tumultuous past between Fox and Bay seems like it should be enough to not have her involved. Then we have the character of April herself, who doesn’t fit the Megan Fox persona what so ever. I’m not saying that it isn’t possible for Megan Fox to shed the sexy girl character and attempt to play a more conservative role, but this is still a bad idea. Hit the jump for more info.

The film is currently in production with Jonathan Liebesman (Wraith of the Titans) directing and Bay himself producing.  The release was pushed back after several script re-writes and is tentatively set for May 16th 2014. Until then, try to forget about this movie existing at all and enjoy the concept image below as it’s probably way better than the movie itself.
