To Make Matters Worse… Sony Moves Forward on ‘Captain Planet’

After first reading this news on The Hollywood Reporter, the horribly infectious theme song of Captain Planet began looping through my head and flashbacks from my Saturday morning cartoon days began to emerge.

While Captain Planet might be a fun show to reminisce about, the idea of producing a modern live action version of the 90s cartoon just doesn’t seem like a good idea.  Sony seems to think so however, as it was announced today that they are working on a deal for the rights to make a film version of everyone’s favorite eco crusader. Now, if they made it with the same tone as Don Cheadle‘s Funny or Die series, then I’d be interested.  Nothing else to report just yet, so for now hit the break and watch FoD’s version.
