‘Upstream Color’ Trailer

Soak in the beauty and ambiguity of the first official teaser for Shane Carruth’s long-awaited follow-up to 2004’s Primer (which won him the Grand Jury Prize at that year’s Sundance Film Festival.) I had numerous thoughts within the 53 seconds of this trailer:

This is my favorite film of whatever year it comes out.
What is the sun made of?
This is already better than Primer.
Will I even understand this film.
Answer: No.
I should google ‘what is the sun made of’.
Answer: 72% hydrogen, 26% helium and trace amounts of oxygen, carbon, neon, nitrogen, magnesium, iron and silicon. All in all, 67 chemical elements.
I cannot wait for this film.
8 years seems worth the wait.

Upstream Color will be premiering at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Dramatic Competition (which for me is the (very) early front-runner.)
