Warner Bros. Hires New Scribe for ‘Justice League’

With the massive amount of success of Marvel’s The Avengers, it’s only natural that we’d be seeing more big ideas come from the comic book world, and it appears that Warner Bros. is deciding to breath life back into the idea of the Justice League film. This film has been thrown around for years now, and was ultimately canned during the writer’s strike back in 2007.

Back then, there were talks of the film being animated, and not live action, and there were also conflicts with Christopher Nolan cooperating on the Batman front as well.

However, much to a fanboy’s delight, it seems that this film is going to happen, as Warner Bros. hired Will Beall to take the helm at writing the script.  Beall also wrote the upcoming Gangster Squad, and was announced as the new writer for Nicholas Winding Refn‘s Logan’s Run remake.

The biggest concern at this point, is how can they possibly pull it off?  They will essentially have to scrap all their previous films and craft an entirely new continuity for the characters. Zack Snyder, director of the new Superman film, said that his Superman will not be in the same universe as the Justice League film, and I shutter to think about how they will deal with the Green Lantern mess.

It seems like if they want this concept to succeed they need to do what Marvel did with their movies, and what DC themselves did with their comics-  wipe the slate clean and build from scratch.
