Patriots Day is third collaboration between director Peter Berg and actor Mark Wahlberg that showcases based-on-real-life heroism, following Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon. A just-released trailer intersperses testimonials from real people affected by the Boston Marathon bombing and the film footage looks in-line with the previous Berg/Wahlberg team-ups. I enjoy the in-the-moment style and am looking forward to this one.
Patriots Day also stars Melissa Benoist, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon, Michelle Monaghan and J.K. Simmons. It gets a limited release on December 21st before going wide on January 13th.
