Weekend Box Office: LOGAN has Fourth Highest R-rated Opening Ever

Hugh Jackman’s final turn as Wolverine in Logan dominated the box office last weekend, earning over $85 million for the fourth largest opening for an R-rated film. The only bigger R-rated openings are Deadpool, The Matrix Reloaded, and American Sniper. The week’s other wide releases, The Shack and Before I Fall, finished third and fifth, respectively, while Get Out earned a solid $26 million to finish second behind Logan.   7. Hidden Figures– $3.83M; Total gross: $158.76M
  8. The Great Wall – $3.5M; Total gross: $41.26M
  9. Fifty Shades Darker– $3.5M; Total gross: $1110M
  10. La La Land –$2.98M; Total gross: $145.7M
