XYZ Films Picks Up Dutch Thriller WOLF (Trailer)

XYZ Films announced today they have acquired the worldwide rights to Jim Taihuttu‘s crime thriller Wolf, which will be making its festival premiere at this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival.  The film revolves around a man recently released from prison who gets involved in underground kickboxing and, despite trying to stay on the straight and narrow, gets pulled back into a life of crime.

XYZ will be selling the rights at the Toronto International Film Festival beginning next week, so hopefully a US release won’t be too far off in the horizon.  Hit the jump to check out the trailer and synopsis.

WOLF tells the gripping story of Majid, a young man who decides to capitalize on his mixed martial arts skills shortly after being released from prison. As his fighting prowess allows him a legitimate path to get his life back on track, it also brings him increasing notoriety inside and outside the ring. The worlds of kickboxing and organized crime quickly begin to blur as Majid is pulled into a savage, violent and lawless underworld.
