A24 and Jeremy Saulnier Teaming Up For HOLD THE DARK

A24 announced today that it will be once again teaming up with Blue Ruin and The Green Room director Jeremy Saulnier to adapt William Giraldi’s novel Hold the Dark to the big screen. Saulnier will direct the film, with longtime creative partner and star of Blue Ruin Macon Blair writing the screenplay.

Here’s the synopsis from the novel:

When a child is taken from his village by a pack of wolves, an expert hunter is summoned to track and destroy them.  His mission leads him down an increasingly dark and shocking path as he confronts the cruelty of nature and his own failures as a man.  With the child’s grief-crazed father closing in behind him and a fierce, unforgiving landscape ahead, the question becomes, who is really being hunted?

Saulnier? Blair? Revenge? Yes, yes, yes.
