The film is written and directed by Robert Eggers, and revolves around a family in 1630’s New England who become terrorized by supernatural forces after the mysterious disappearance of a baby.
It definitely seems like A24 is betting on the strong critical reception of the film when making the decision to opt for a nationwide release rather than a limited or day and date release, which will hopefully work to their favor.
