Dwayne Johnson to Headline Disaster Pic SKYSCRAPER

Universal and Legendary Pictures have set a June 13th, 2018 release date for Skyscraper, a disaster/action movie starring Dwayne Johnson. It what sounds like Die Hard meets The Towering Inferno, Johnson will play a former hostage team rescuer whose family gets trapped in the world’s tallest building after a massive fire breaks out.

Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence) will re-team with Johnson as writer and director. The actor shared more details on Instagram.

Per Variety:

In the pic, Johnson will play former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China, he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name, and somehow rescue his family who is trapped inside the building.
