Eli Roth to Direct ‘Harker’

Warner Bros. announced today that Eli Roth will be taking on his first big budget movie with Harker, a vampire story centered around a detective named Jonathan Harker.  Russell Crowe, who was originally set to play Harker, is now going to be Dracula, the film’s villain. Written by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, the film is being sold as a franchise, however it’s been noted that Dracula will not appear in all the films.

The main character of Harker has not yet been cast, but stay tuned for more on this story as it develops.  I’m a fan of Eli Roth, and will be curious to see where he can take a vampire detective story.
