‘End of Watch’ Red Band Trailer

Yahoo! has just released the red band trailer for the upcoming found footage cop flick End of Watch starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, and directed by David Ayer. Ayer is no stranger to the cop film, previously directing Harsh Times and Street Kings, but both were underwhelming at best.  End of Watch, however, is getting a decent amount of positive buzz and it looks like it could make interesting use of the found footage style.  The red band trailer is not a whole lot different from the green band, but there is a bit more violence and swearing, and it also unfortunately shows a spoiler is you’re paying close attention.  This is very disappointing, and I don’t know why they put it in there, but hopefully it won’t detract from the experience of seeing the final product when it hits theaters September 21st.

A powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage, End Of Watch stars Academy Award® nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña as young police officers Taylor and Zavala as they patrol the city’s meanest streets of south central Los Angeles.

Giving the story a gripping, first-person immediacy, the action unfolds through footage from the handheld HD cameras of the police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, and citizens caught in the line of fire to create a riveting portrait of the city’s most dangerous corners, the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.
