G.I. JOE 3 Gets a Writer

We can all breathe a sigh of relief because today it was announced that a screenwriter has been found for the third installment of G.I. Joe.  Evan Daugherty will be penning the script for returning director Jon M. Chu.  Daugherty has been quite busy as of late, writing the scripts for Snow White and the Huntsman and the dreadfully bad Killing Season, in addition to the upcoming young adult adaptation Divergent, as well as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles remake.

There’s currently no release date planned as of yet, and the cast has not been confirmed either, despite rumors that Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson will be returning.  My question is, are there really people out there who haven’t given up on this franchise yet?
