It’s been announced today that the upcoming G.I. Joe Retaliation is being pushed back nine months to March 29, 2013, in order to convert the film to 3D. This is clearly a last minute decision in order to avoid having to compete with the onslaught of big movies coming out this summer, and a way to make a few extra bucks per ticket. I personally don’t care about the date change, but I am a bit peeved since G.I. Joe was part of my summer movie wager.
As a result of this slot opening up, we now have Ted, the R-rated comedy from Seth Macfarlane, getting pushed up from July 13th to enter the June 29th slot.
