Los Angeles Film Critics Name Their Best of the Year

Moonlight continues to build award season momentum, as it was just named Best Picture by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. The film also received LAFCA awards for Best Director (Barry Jenkins), Best Supporting Actor (Mahershala Ali), and Cinematography (James Laxton).

The group names a runner-up for each award, with La La Land coming in second in five different categories, including Best Picture, while winning for Music/Score (Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek, Justin Paul).
