A teaser and poster were released a few days ago, and now The Mummy has its first full trailer. Directed by Alex Kurtzman and starring Tom Cruise, the film is meant to kick-off a new round of Universal classic monster movies.
The trailer begins with an extended plane crash sequence and also includes a nasty-looking bus accident. I suppose the mummy (Sofia Boutella) dislikes modern vehicles. The Mission: Impossible-esque plane sequence is definitely the highlight, mostly because it looks real-ish. The rest of the action? Clouds of CGI dust and debris that Cruise runs away from quickly.
The Mummy will be released on June 9th, 2017 and also stars Russell Crowe, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Annabelle Wallis.
