New Date for ‘Gangster Squad’ Announced

According to Deadline, Warner Bros. plans to  announce today that Gangster Squad will now be released on January 11, instead of it’s original date of September 7th, in order to give them time to re-cut and re-shoot part of the film.In the wake of the recent Colorado shooting, Warners decided to remove a scene in the film involving gangsters shooting through a theater screen, into a crowd of patrons. This was originally a large part of the the film, which now has to be reworked in order to excise the scene from the story completely.

Hopefully this won’t turn out badly, but it seems that by giving themselves four months to get it fixed, should be enough time.
