Sony Picks Up Cannes Hit SON OF SAUL

Sony Pictures Classics has picked up the North American rights to Laszlo NemesSon of Saul, which garnered a lot of praise coming out of Cannes this week. The film takes place in Auschwitz during World War II, where a man is forced to carry out atrocious tasks for the Nazis. As devastating as it sounds, this seems like an important film to see.

Son of Saul opens in France this November, and while Sony hasn’t announced a U.S. release date just yet, I would imagine it will hit theaters around that time.
