TIFF ’12: Peter Strickland’s ‘Berberian Sound Studio’ Trailer

Here’s another debut trailer for one of my most anticipated films premiering at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. The film is titled Berberian Sound Studio, and is directed by Peter Strickland, and stars Toby Jones as a sound mixer working for an Italian film studio. The film doesn’t currently have a US release date as of yet, but hopefully distributors at TIFF will pick it up so we can all see it. It looks like it’s going to be an Italian horror version of Blow Out, which would be excellent. Here’s the trailer and synopsis:

Set in 1976: Gilderoy is hired to orchestrate the sound mix for the latest film by Italian horror maestro, Santini. As time and realities shift, Gilderoy is lost in a spiral of sonic and personal mayhem, and has to confront his own demons in order to stay afloat.
