Weekend Box Office: MOANA Three-peats, LA LA LAND Has Huge Per-theater Average

Moana topped the weekend box office for the third straight week, adding nearly $19 million, for a total take of $145 million. Office Christmas Party debuted in second place with $17.5 million.

Finishing in 15th for the weekend was La La Land, an impressive showing considering it was only in five theaters. The musical grossed $855K, for an average of $171K per screen.
