X-MEN Producer Confirms Channing Tatum as Gambit

X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner has confirmed in an interview with Total Film that Channing Tatum has officially signed on to play Gambit in an upcoming film.  Previously, the producer stated that she wanted to see Tatum in the role and Tatum himself expressed interest, but now it seems official.  What we don’t currently know, is if Gambit will be getting his own standalone movie, or if he’ll take part in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.

Two years ago I would have said this was a bad idea, but since then Channing Tatum won me over and I think he’ll be perfectly suited for the lovable rogue that is Gambit.  At least he’ll be better than Taylor Kitsch.
