Poster Edit for the Newly Titled LEE DANIELS’ THE BUTLER

To the left you’ll see the newly edited version of Lee Daniels’ The Butler, after the film was forced to change its name due to a complaint filed by Warner Bros. over an existing title that came out in 1916.

In addition to changing the name by adding the “Lee Daniels” bit, which has to be a least 75% of the font size of “The Butler” part, The Weinstein Co. will also have to pay $400,000 to the Entertainment Industry Foundation for its violations, $100,000 to the EIF and pay up to $150,000 to Warner Bros. for legal fees.

Ouch.

Lee Daniels’ The Butler will be hitting theaters August 16th, and stars Forest Whitaker, John Cusack, Robin Williams, Oprah Winfrey and Jane Fonda.
