Jemaine Clement and Taiki Waititi’s hilarious vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows is gearing up for a February release, and it needs your help to make it to more theaters than just New York and L.A. Clement has started up a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise funds to put the film in 70 additional cities across the country. I had the good fortune of seeing this at Sundance last year, and I can attest that this is definitely a movie worth backing.

Take a look at the campaign video below, and be sure to click here to head over to the Kickstarter page.

It’s a vampire documentary that’s been literally 8,000 years in the making. You can help bring it to America.

On FRIDAY THE 13th of FEBRUARY we will release WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS by ourselves, without a studio distributor, so that we can share our film with you, the audience, directly.

The film will open in New York City (at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema) and in Los Angeles (at The Arclight Cinemas/Hollywood) but we want to take it further. We want to bring our film ALL across America — but that’s expensive! There’s posters, trailers, advertising, publicity – the list is endless…Oh, and we will need something to project in every theater.

We have put together a plan with some of the best independent film minds around to reach as many cities and towns as possible, but we cannot achieve our goal without your support, enthusiasm, and generosity. Please help us bring “What We Do in the Shadows” to a theater near you!
