Ferrell and Reilly to Play HOLMES AND WATSON For Sony

Sony is moving forward with its long-gestating comedic version of Sherlock Holmes, which was originally set to feature Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen, but will now have Ferrell playing Holmes and John C. Reilly as Dr. Watson.

Etan Cohen, who previously worked with Ferrell on last years Get Hard, will be directing for Sony’s Columbia Pictures. 

As we’ve seen in Talladega Nights and Step Brothers, Ferrell and Reilly have a great comedic chemistry and although I’m a bit tired of the all too numerous Sherlock retreads, I’m excited to see what comes of this one. There’s currently no other casting news or release dates surrounding this one as of yet, but stay tuned.
