Wes Anderson’s THE FRENCH DISPATCH Gets a Poster

Searchlight Pictures has a released a very Wes Anderson-y poster for his upcoming film The French Dispatch, with the announcement that the first trailer will be coming out tomorrow. The film, which was originally going to be a musical before getting reworked, features perhaps the most robust Anderson crew yet featuring Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Adrien Brody, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson, Lea Seydoux, Timothee Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Stephen Park, Mathieu Amalric, Liev Schreiber, Elisabeth Moss, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe, Lois Smith, Saoirse Ronan, Christoph Waltz, Cecile De France, Jason Schwartzman, Rupert Friend, Henry Winkler, Bob Balaban, and Anjelica Huston. There’s probably some more in there I’m unintentionally leaving out too.

According to IMDb, The French Dispatch is slated to released July 24th, though I’m sure we’ll be a confirmed date tomorrow.

Wes Anderson is such a unique filmmaker. His films could not be more original yet they are all kind of the same. I felt like his peak was The Grand Budapest Hotel, representing complete stylistic freedom and great ambition. I am excited for The French Dispatch and hope that on top of his quirky and great style, he surprised us with new depth or distinct story.
