Here is the list for my Top 10 films of the year. I went back and forth before settling on this order, as I like to consider pure visceral enjoyment as much as strict film-making expertise. There were some films that scored high on one but only so-so on the other (such as The Hobbit and Les Miserables), causing them to fall off the list at the end. What’s left below are the ones that survived.
