‘Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa’ Trailer Starring Steve Coogan

Alan Partridge is back in his first full length movie adventure, which, after viewing the trailer, looks oddly similar to Airheads.  Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa stars Steve Coogan as everyone’s favorite radio personality who is thrust into a hostage situation after a co-worker (Colm Meaney) gets let go from their radio station.

Though Western audiences are probably not familiar with the character, Partridge has been hugely popular in the UK since his creation in 1991.  Studiocanal is set to release the film in cinemas in the UK August 7th, with no current US release date.  Hit the jump for the trailer and synopsis.

 

When Alan’s radio station, North Norfolk Digital, is taken over by a new media conglomerate, it sets in motion a hilarious chain of events which see Alan having to work with the police to defuse a potentially violent siege. In cinemas August 7th.
